Short Story One : The Prince who stopped hunting

Once upon a time there was a young prince. Mahit was his name. He was energetic and charming. He had a passion for hunting and swimming. He used to swim excellently even in running waters. He had an assistant who would accompany him where ever he went.

Calling it - “just for a hobby” he used to hunt animas in the near by forest. Deer, rabbits, even tigers and even sometimes elephants. The wall of his room in the palace was nailed with the models made of real skin of animals hunted by him. the population of the animals were slowly coming down. This worried his assistant. He was looking for an opportunity to communicate this to the rice without making him angry.

One day, when they were roaming in the forest, the prince shared his desire of building a guest house where he can spend time with his friends. The assistant spotted a beautiful spot in the forest and said that he could build the guest house there

 The prince wondered if anyone would build a building in the middle of the forest. The assistant politely pointed out that if the orince continued his hunting this place would no longer be a forest. The prince realised his mistake. He stopped hunting and started funfint the re population of animals in the forest

Short Story two: A Magical tree

Once upon a time, in an old town in an unknown island, lived a beautiful girl name Carole. She lived with her 2 sisters and her mother. The sisters were jealous of her. She was beautiful, hardworking and a quick learner. Everyone in the island loved her for her nature. But at home, she was illtreated by her sisters. They used to take away all her good clothes and give her torn and old ones. She was not even served hot meals. But she was always polite and kind towards them.

one day, unusually, there was a huge storm followed by heavy rain in the town. None of them had seen such a rain in the past. After the rain stopped, people saw a huge tree with silver leaves and golden fruits growing in the centre of town.

 It became the talk of the town. Almost everyone assembled near the tree. Then there was a voice from the sky which said – that that tree was a magical tree. Whoever could pluck the leaves and fruits of the tree would become the king/queen of the whole island. The tree would allow only those who is worthy and have the quality to rule the island. Many of them tried. But as soon as they approached the tree, the tree would bend away the branches from them.

 Even Carole’s sisters and mother tried. But could not make it. They did not allow Carole to try. But the people of the town forced her to try. When she approached the tree the tree  bent towards her making it easy to pluck. As soon as she plucked a leaf, her dress turned into a beautiful gown, and flying came a majestic crown! She became the queen of the island. She ruled the island as a worthy queen

Moral of the Story:

This story is selected from an old fairy tale collection. The best way to kill time and best part is usually fairy tales will always have a happy ending!
