ELLIE ELEPHANT AND HIS FRIENDS
Ellie Elephant was feeling very lonely. He did not have any siblings. His parents went to find food every day. He wanted to make friends. He approached Moli monkey to be his friend. Molly invited Ellie to his home, which is a tree. Ellie tried climbing the tree, but could not as he was very big. Molly asked Ellie how could he be her friend when he could not climb trees, nor jump from one tree to another. So, Molly Monkey denied Ellie’s friendship.
Ellie met Rebeca Rabbit. Ellie extended his hand for friendship. Rebeca invited Ellie to be her guest tonight. Rebeca prepared carrot soup and carrot pie. Ellie was delighted to visit Rebeca. Ellie reached her burrow and tried to squeeze in. Rebeca said that he was too big to fit in her burrow. Rebeca gave Ellie the meal she prepared for him. Ellie gulped it in a jiffy. For Ellie, the meal was like a pickle in front of his appetite. Ellie thanked her for the meal and left for his home.
Ellie then met with Freddy Frog at the pond. Freddy jumped up and down as it was his nature. Ellie tried jumping like him. It was very difficult for Ellie to jump with his heavy body. So, Freddy didn’t want to be his friend either.
Likewise, many animals in the forest denied Ellie’s friendship. They told some or the other reason to turn him down. Ellie was saddened. The Lion of the jungle hunted animals as was his nature. Rebeca, Molly, Freddy and the rest of the animals wanted to live peacefully. They didn’t want to live in fear.
All animals approached the mighty Ellie for help. Ellie felt happy to help them. Rebeca, Molly, Freddy and all the other animals wanted Ellie to get rid of the Lion. Ellie went to the Lion for a peace talk. The Lion was adamant and did listen to Ellie. Ellie kicked the Lion. The Lion was scared and ran away saving his life.
All the animals of the forest thanked Ellie for his great help. Not only did Rebeca, Molly, and Freddy become his friends, but all the animals accepted him as their friend. They realized size or shape of an animal doesn’t matter in front of friendship. Ellie proved himself as their saviour, even though they denied his friendship in the beginning.
Moral of the Story
A friend in need is a friend indeed.
