Short Stories for kids on Failing and Succeeding

Short Story One: Mouse learns that failures are a stepping stone to success

Once upon a time, there was a small mouse living in a meadow. Every day, he would look with envy at the birds soaring through the sky, wishing he could fly as well. One day, the mouse had an idea. He decided to build a kite with feathers he found in the meadow and some twine he had collected over time. With a few hours of hard work, the mouse had finally made his own kite! The mouse took the kite outside and launched it into the sky. As the wind took it higher and higher, the mouse was filled with joy and excitement. But as he looked down, the mouse realized that he had made a mistake: he had forgotten to make a tail to help the kite fly better. The kite kept flying, but it wasn't going in any particular direction. The mouse watched as the kite flew higher and higher, eventually disappearing into the clouds. He was sad that he had forgotten to make a tail, but he was still proud of himself for trying something new and adventurous. He had also learnt a lesson by doing.

Next time, he put the right effort and created a kite along with a tail and he was able to steer it in the direction he wanted

Moral of the story :

The moral of the story is that nothing teaches better lessons than failure. We should look at failures as stepping stones to success. Each time we fail, we should find out why we failed and make corrections and that is the only way to be successful

Short Story Two: Lion learns that our actions must never be motivated towards proving something to others

Once upon a time there was a lion who lived in the jungle. The lion was very brave and strong, and he had a lot of respect from the other animals in the jungle. One day, the lion decided he wanted to prove to the other animals that he was the strongest and bravest of them all. So he set off on a journey to find the most dangerous creature in the jungle. He searched high and low, but couldn't find anything that scared him. He was starting to give up hope, when he came across a river with a giant crocodile in it.  The lion was scared, but he thought this was the best way to porve himself and hee mustered up all of his courage and bravery and charged straight at the crocodile. The lion had hastily jumped into the water without  a plan and the crocodile was stronger and inside the wate, crocodiles strength was better than the lions. Eventually, the crocodile defeated the lion.

Moral of the story:

The moral of this story is that we must never strive to prove ourselves to others. When we do this we forget to learn things. We focus only on the outcomes. We forget to plan or make strategies and do our best., so in most cases we end up failing
