USA GEOGRAPHY AND CLIMATE

The country is in North America between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The geography of the United States has a lot of variety. There are mountains, lakes, rivers, deserts, and islands.

The overall climate in the United States of America is temperate, with notable exceptions. Alaska has an Arctic tundra climate, while Hawaii and South Florida have a tropical climate. The Great Plains are dry, flat, and grassy, turning into an arid desert in the far West.

USA PEOPLE AND CULTURE

Native Americans make up 75.8% of the population, African Americans are 13.6%, and the American Indians and Alaska Natives are 1.3%.

The culture of the United States of America is primarily of Western, and European origin, yet its influences include the cultures of Asian American, African American, Latin American, and Native American peoples and their cultures.

The most popular dish of the USA Hamburger. It’s a popular sandwich made of bun or sliced bread rolls stuffed with veggies, sauces, and of course beef patties, and then grilled to perfection.

USA THE FLAG

There are thirteen equal horizontal stripes of red alternating with white. There is a blue rectangle in the upper hoist-side corner bearing 50 small white five-pointed stars. The 50 stars represent the 50 states, the 13 stripes represent the 13 original colonies.

USA FLORA AND FAUNA

The United States of America has a rich native flora that comprises approximately 17,000 species of vascular plants. The native flora of the United States has provided the world with a large number of horticultural and agricultural plants, mostly ornamentals, such as flowering dogwood, redbud, mountain laurel, bald cypress, southern magnolia, and black locust.

Indigenous mammals include the American bison, opossum, raccoon, prairie chicken, wild turkey, eastern cottontail, black-tailed jackrabbit, plains coyote, black-tailed prairie dog, muskrat white-tailed deer, swift foxes, pronghorn antelope, Franklin's ground squirrel and several other species of ground squirrels.

USA POPULAR SPORT

American football, or simply football as it is referred to in America, is by far the most popular sport in America. Other most popular sports are baseball, basketball, ice hockey, and soccer.

USA Monuments of importance

Statue of Liberty: This towering monument to liberty was a gift from France on the centenary of American independence. Inaugurated in 1886, the sculpture stands at the entrance to New York Harbor. The statue represents a Roman Goddess. The crown's spikes represent the oceans and continents. It is 93 meters tall.

Empire state building: The Empire State Building is a 102-story Art Deco skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. The building was designed by Shreve, Lamb & Harmon. Its name is derived from "Empire State", the nickname of the state of New York.

White House Washington D.C: The White House is the official residence and workplace of the president of the United States. It is located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington. There are 132 rooms, 35 bathrooms, and 6 levels in the Residence.

Washington square arc: Washington Arch, is a marble memorial arch in Washington Square Park, New York City. it commemorates the centennial of George Washington's 1789 inauguration as President of the United States.

New York subway: Some 4.5 million passengers take the subway in New York. New York's subway is the only rapid transit system in the world that runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
