Short Stories for kids on thinking before acting and hard work

A Donkey and a Merchant

On a sunny spring morning, a merchant loaded his donkey with bags of salt to sell at the market. The merchant and his donkey were walking side by side. They hadn't gone far when they came across a river.

The donkey, however, slipped and plunged into the river. As it scrambled up the riverbank, it observed that the salt bags on his back had become lighter.

The merchant had no choice but to return home, where he loaded his donkey with more bags of salt. As they approached the slick riverbank again, the donkey purposefully fell into the river. As a result, the salt was once again thrown away.
The merchant had figured out the donkey's trick by this point. He wished to educate the animal. The merchant piled bundles of sponges on the back of the donkey as he went home for the second time.

The pair headed off on their third excursion to the market. When they arrived at the river, the donkey cleverly fell back into the water. However, instead of becoming lighter, the load increased heavier.

Moral of the Story - You can full some one once or twice, but not always. Hard work is the only solution in the long term for any work

The Butterfly and the Cocoon
Many of us are aware that a gorgeous and colorful butterfly is produced by an ugly worm! This is the story of a butterfly who was never able to live a normal butterfly's life.

A man saw a cocoon one day. He was obsessed with butterflies and their amazing color combinations. He used to spend a lot of time near butterflies. He understood how difficult it would be for a butterfly to turn from an unattractive caterpillar to a beautiful one.

He noticed a cocoon with a tiny opening. It signified that the butterfly was attempting to make its way out into the world to enjoy it. He chose to wait and see how the butterfly emerged from the cocoon. He had been watching the butterfly struggle to break through the shell for several hours. He spent over ten hours with the cocoon and the butterfly. The butterfly had been trying for hours to escape through the tiny gap. Unfortunately, even after several hours of constant attempts, no progress was made. The butterfly seems to have done its utmost and was unable to try again.

The man, who was passionate about butterflies, decided to assist the butterfly. He took out a pair of scissors and trimmed the cocoon to make a larger entrance for the butterfly before removing the remaining cocoon. The butterfly emerged effortlessly!

Unfortunately, the butterfly was no longer attractive, with a bloated thorax and short, withered wings.

The man was relieved that he had successfully coaxed the butterfly out of the cocoon. He kept watching the butterfly, eager to see it soar with its lovely wings. He imagined that the butterfly could expand its wings at any time, decrease its body, and the wings could support the body. Unfortunately, neither the wings nor the bloated body expanded.

Unfortunately, the butterfly crawled around on the ground with shriveled wings and a massive body. It was never able to take to the skies. Although the man did it with good intentions, he was unaware that only through effort can the butterfly emerge lovely and with strong wings.

The butterfly's constant endeavor to emerge from its cocoon would allow the fluid stored in its body to be turned into wings. As a result, the body would become lighter and smaller, while the wings would become more beautiful and enormous.

We won't be able to fly if we don't put up any fight!

Moral of the Story - We shine because of our struggles!

The hungry fox who became entangled in the tree trunk

Once upon a time, there was a hungry fox in search of something to eat. He was ravenous. The fox could not find food no matter how hard he looked. Finally, he went to the forest's edge and looked for food there. Suddenly, he noticed a large tree with a hole in it.

A gift was hidden inside the hole. The hungry fox immediately assumed that there was food inside and rejoiced. He dove into the hole. When he opened the gift, he saw slices of bread, sausage, and fruit!

The fox enthusiastically started eating. He became thirsty after finishing his meal and decided to exit the hole to drink some water from a nearby spring. He couldn't get out of the hole, no matter how hard he tried. Do you understand

why? Yes, the fox had consumed so much food that he had grown too large to fit through the hole!

The fox was depressed and forlorn. "I wish I had thought a little more before jumping into the hole," he told himself.

Moral of the Story - Yes, youngsters, this is the outcome of doing something without first thinking it through.
