Move More : Simple Yoga Stretches for All

As we spend time indoors, it is imperative that we move more.  It is easier to do any activty if we have a structure and do it with a boit of discipline. W

We have put together seven simple strectches that you can do first thing in the morning as a family rituat. 

These Asanas help with posture correction, balance, stress relief, overall strength and flexibility. Each of these can be done 3 to 4 times.*

1) Vikrasana ( Tree Pose)

Step 1: Place one feet on the inner thigh of the other leg

Step 2: Steady Gaze. Bring Hands in Namaste. Breathe Normally. Repeat with other leg

2) Ek Pad Asana.( One Foot Asana)

Step 1: Stand straight, raise your hands . Inhale

Step 2:Interlock Fingers 

Step 3: Bend Forward and with arms stretched out and interlocked Fingers. exhale

Step 4: Raise the left leg and take it back. Repeat with the other leg

3) Tadasna ( Palm Tree)

Step 1: Interlock Fingers, Turn Palm upwards. Palm should be facing the sky

Step 2: Raise Hands Above head and look straight. Inhale in this step

Step 3: Stretch your whole body, lift the heels as well. 

Step 4: Exhale and bring heel down and bring arms down

4) Bhadrasana(Butterfly)

Step 1: Sit in a cross legged position

Step 2: Interlock fingers, turn palm upward, keep your head straight . Breathe Normal

5) Parvatasana ( Mountain)

Step 1: Sit in a cross legged position

Step 2: Interlock fingers, turn palm upward, keep your head straight . Breathe Normal

6) Marjari Asana ( Cat/ Camel)

Step 1: Kneel & lean forward with arms on the floor. trunk parallel to the floor

Step 2: Exhale, move belly inwards, look down

Step 3: Inhale , arch back in opposite direction look up

7) Savasana ( Bliss Pose)

Lie on your back. Bring arms next to your body. Keep your legs straight. Close your eyes. Relax and seep breathe
