The Ants and the Elephant

Once in a jungle there lived some ants. The ants lived in a small ant hill next to a tree. In the same forest lived an elephant. The elephant was very arrogant because of his size. He would go to the ant colony and threaten them, harass them. He even killed some ants for sport. The ants tried to reason with him saying, please don't hurt us. But, the elephant only laughed and created more ruckus.

The ants finally had enough and decided to attack the elephant back.

A few ants climbed his trunk and some climbed inside his ears and started biting him. The elephant could not stand the pain and started crying. Finally, he apologised to the ants and never again troubled them

Moral of the story:

We should never be arrogant. We might be large in size and we might be more powerful, we should not use our power to trouble people smaller than us. Someday, it will all come back to us and we will be very sorry for our behaviour. No matter how big or powerful we think we are, there will always be someone better than us

God helps us in unexpected times:

One day a boat was shipwrecked on an uninhabited island . Only one man survived . He was very angry in his situation and he almost lost faith in God. Then he remembered that he was the only one who survived the shipwreck and became thankful

Once he became thankful, he started thinking of ways of making his life better on the island. He built a small hut out of the ship wreck. He found a place where he could get fresh water.

He found some berries he could eat.

He adjusted himself to his new life, never losing faith in God. One day when he had gone to the pond to collect water, his tiny hut was struck by lightning and burnt down. The man was feeling very low, he prayed to God to help him

Just then, a ship arrived to rescue him. The captain of the ship told him that he saw the fire and knew that help was needed, The man thanked God for the mysterious ways in which he helps

Moral of the story:

God acts in mysterious ways. We should never lose faith

The wood cutter and his axe

Once there lived a poor wood cutter. He made a living by chopping and selling firewood. One day, while in the forest, his axe slipped from his hand and fell into the river.

The wood cutter started to cry, because he had no other way to make a living.  Suddenly, a fairy emerged from the water and asked him what was wrong. The wood cutter told her that he lost his axe in the river. The fairy asked the wood cutter not to fret and she went inside the water. The fairy returned with a silver axe, the wood cutter said his axe was made of iron.

The fair once again went into the water, this time she returned with a bedazzling golden sword studded with gems and precious stones. The wood cutter again said that this was not his axe

The fairy was very impressed with the man’s honesty and gave him the golden sword to keep. The man was very happy and lived a comfortable life

Moral of the story:

To be honest is the best policy
